ABOUT CHECKSURE – INDEPENDENT NEW-HOME INSPECTIONS
About CheckSure: practical experience behind every inspection
CheckSure provides independent inspections for new-build buyers and homeowners across West Sussex, East Sussex and Surrey.
Our approach is informed by practical experience across the housebuilding process—from initial site setup and construction through quality control, customer handover and the investigation of defects after occupation.

How the business began
CheckSure was created to give new-home buyers and homeowners clearer, more practical support when the condition of their home needs to be recorded and understood.
The business draws on many years of experience from site setup and construction through completion, handover and post-occupation defect investigation. That background shaped the inspection service, a consistent reporting approach with priorities, precise locations and photographs, and the CheckSure Homeowner Knowledge Base.
Experience and credentials
CheckSure is led by an experienced construction professional who holds a Pearson Edexcel Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management and a current Black CSCS Manager card.
Previous housebuilding work has included senior project positions for major PLC housebuilders and smaller bespoke builders. This work has covered houses, low-rise apartments, site-wide infrastructure, community facilities and commercial buildings.
Previous work has been recognised with an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award, an LABC Building Excellence Award at both regional and national Grand Finals and a Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards Bronze Award. These achievements pre-date CheckSure and do not imply endorsement of the business.
Relevant professional training
The experience behind CheckSure is supported by professional training relevant to new-home quality, construction management, building safety and site operations. This includes:
- the New Homes Quality Code;
- NHBC Defect Prevention;
- the Building Safety Act;
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations;
- CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS);
- health and safety management; and
- fire-risk awareness and first aid.
Some courses and certificates require periodic renewal. Training is reviewed and renewed where appropriate to the work undertaken.
This training supports CheckSure’s understanding of how construction sites operate, how new homes are delivered and how safety, access and site conditions can affect an inspection. It does not imply that CheckSure provides specialist assessments or certification outside the agreed inspection scope.
Independent advice for the customer
CheckSure acts independently for the customer named in the booking. CheckSure is not employed by, affiliated with or endorsed by the property developer, the New Homes Quality Board, NHBC, LABC Warranty, Premier Guarantee or any other warranty provider.
References in an inspection report to developers, codes, warranty providers, technical standards or published guidance are included only to explain requirements that may be relevant to the home. They do not imply endorsement of CheckSure or guarantee that a developer or warranty provider will accept any observation. See the Terms of Business for the complete scope boundaries.
Our working principles
- Work independently for the buyer or homeowner
- Record evidence clearly and proportionately
- Explain technical matters in plain English
- Acknowledge access, weather and service limitations
- Recommend specialist assessment where an issue falls outside the inspection scope
- Never present membership, awards or external standards as endorsements when they are not
The Homeowner Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base is informed by recurring customer questions, practical problems and experience of delivering and supporting new homes. Its purpose is to help buyers and owners understand their homes before and after an inspection. Articles follow consistent editorial and evidence standards and are reviewed when relevant guidance, regulations or technical standards change.
